E-liquids & Nicotine Dosages
E-liquids
E-liquid can vary depending on the flavor, nicotine concentration, and composition; however, they all usually have the same basic ingredients: nicotine, propylene glycol (PG), flavoring, and vegetable glycerin (VG).
Most e-liquids are made from a PG/VG blend, which consists of varying levels of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin. PG and VG are not oils; therefore, inhaling them is not known to cause conditions caused by inhaling oils, such as lipoid pneumonia. PG and VG are considered sugar alcohols and are included in many consumable products as an additive or preservative, including food or medication. E-liquid is made from PG and VG in combination with nicotine synthesized in a laboratory setting and a flavoring.
PG is less thick than VG and is used to produce a “throat hit, also known as “the burning” sensation that smokers feel in the throat when smoking a cigarette. PG also tends to have more flavor than VG based liquids. VG is derived from vegetable oil and is considered vegetarian. VG produces a smoother hit and is used to create vapor clouds; however, e-liquid that is high in VG can cause the coil to clog faster.
ALLO pods typically have a 50/50 ratio of PG/VG, giving you an even balance between flavor, smoothness, and clouds.
Some individuals may have a sensitivity or allergy to PG. It is normal to experience a dry mouth, increased level of thirst, and irritated throat when you first start vaping. If you are a beginner vaper, then check out our other page with helpful hints on easing the transition. Normally the amounts of PG that are in food or medication are not enough to cause an allergic reaction; however, concentrations are higher in e-liquids, so if you notice that your tongue has any swelling or you have trouble breathing, then stop vaping to see if it improves. People can be allergic to nicotine as well. If you were previously a smoker, then you likely would know if this was the case.
Nicotine Dosages
Allo currently offers two nicotine dosages for our products: 20 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL. If you are new to vaping and unsure what nicotine strength to use, you should consider your old smoking habits. If you smoked socially or only a few cigarettes a day, you likely will be more comfortable with a lower dosage. If you had smoked more frequently than that, you may want to opt for a higher nicotine dosage.
However, Due to the recent new regulations implemented by the Canadian government, we will unfortunately be discontinuing our 50 mg strength vapes soon. If you would like more information, please visit our Warranty and Defects section on our FAQ page.
